I am a visual anthropologist based in Manchester UK, where I teach ethnographic documentary at the Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology, University of Manchester. Because I think photography, video and sound recording can add so much to our knowledge of people’s lifeworlds, I use all of these three media in my ethnographic practice. Visual anthropology is for me an approach to telling people’s stories that crosses borders between social science and the arts, so I always keep in mind methods, ethics and aesthetics.
This website displays the best of my production so far, giving space to the images and sounds I recorded in West Africa and Europe. Please take your time to browse my portfolio and check out my current projects.
