Privacy Policy

Who I am

I am Lorenzo Ferrarini and this is my personal website, where I put samples of my work in visual anthropology. In this privacy policy page I explain how the information collected by this website is used and kept secure.

Types of data collected

Cookies

Cookies are small data files which are placed on your computer or other devices (such as smart ‘phones or ‘tablets’) as you browse this website.  They are used to ‘remember’ when your computer or device accesses my website.  Cookies are essential for the effective operation of the website. Some cookies collect information about browsing behaviour when you access this website via the same computer or device.  This includes information about pages viewed and your journey around a website.  I do not use cookies to collect or record information on your name, address or other contact details.

The cookies stored on your computer or other device when you access the websites are use by myself and by providers of services that help run the website, such as WordPress (content publishing platform) and MailChimp (email subscription forms). Cookies are used for technical purposes essential to effective operation of my websites, particularly in relation to site navigation and to collect information about browsing behaviour.

You can disable cookies in your web browser, but be aware that the website might not operate properly.

Google Analytics

I use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. I do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting this website.

Mailing List

I gather personal information in the process of signing up visitors of the website to my list of contacts and related email newsletter. This list is meant to update interested people on the latest developments of my work, to contact you if I need to obtain or provide additional information, and to check my records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. I don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

I use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver periodic emails to a list of contacts. I gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help me monitor and improve the e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of my emails or by getting in touch through the contact form.

Access to your personal information

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that I hold. Email your request to me using the contact form.
